Rookie queens proud to serve in Fairfield SES - Fairfield City Champion
AN increased number of stallholders to the Cootamundra monthly markets resulted in organisers handing out more money in one hit than they have previously to local communityorganisations.
The markets are hosted by the Cootamundra Wattle Country Music Club and on a regular basis the club makes a series of generous donations raised through stallholder fees and gate takings where a donation tin is available.
The latest recipients were the Snowy Hydro Rescue Service, the Cootamundra branch of the State Emergency Service (SES) and the Southern Cross Care Retirement Village Auxiliary.
Each of these most deserving organisations received $300, up from the usual $250 given to groups previously.
WITH THANKS: Pictured during the handover of funds from the Cootamundra Wattle Country Music Club which hosts the monthly markets in town to local organisations are (from left) Country Music member Tracey Gould, SES deputy controller Colin Wilson, Country Music president Ron Owen, Snowy Hydro volunteer Carol Smith, Retirement Village Auxiliary secretary Marjorie Hart and member Don Hart and Country Music secretary Katie Gould.
